Physical Activity and Nutrition

Athletes can perform better with proper nutrition. The best way to keep healthy is to lead an active lifestyle, engage in regular exercise, and consume a good diet. A balanced diet can give you the energy you need to finish a race or just take part in leisurely sports or activities. Poor food and insufficient exercise are factors in obesity as well as other chronic diseases such type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, some cancers, and depression. Only approximately one in ten kids and adults consume the recommended daily amount of vegetables.
