Deb Pidd is a registered nurse and midwife with 25 years of experience as a midwife unit manager in antenatal care settings. Deb completed a BA at La Trobe University, majoring in Sociology, followed some years later with a Master of Midwifery, also at La Trobe.

Her practice and research interests are in women-centred care, education and clinical leadership. 

She is currently undertaking a PhD at La Trobe. The aim of this research is to improve the subsequent pregnancy and birth experience of women who have experienced a prior psychologically traumatic birth by enhancing shared decision-making between women and clinicians.

Dr. Mitzi Brammer is an associate professor and graduate program director in the Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences program at Saint Louis University. Her research interests include student and faculty resilience, interprofessional practice/education, inclusive practices, and language and literacy, particularly with adolescents. Dr. Brammer received her

B.S.E. and her M.Sp. from Arkansas State University. She has a Ph.D. in Curriculum Design and Instruction from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Future research endeavors include the development of a Yes/No protocol for preschool autistic children as well as investigating resilience strategies adapted in an interprofessional team regarding intellectual humility.

Dr. Beaman is the Chief Nurse Administrator of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Aspen University, where she also teaches forensic nursing courses. She has dedicated her nursing practice to helping victims of violence become survivors. Dr. Beaman is a parish nurse in Virginia, who supports the mental health of victims of domestic and societal violence, as well as disasters. She is certified as a nurse educator, psychiatric nurse, women’s health nurse, and medical assistant.

Gihane has more than 20 years experience in mental health nursing and education. She worked as a Transcultural Mental Health Clinical Nurse Consultant, she coordinated a number of projects addressing consumers’ care and satisfaction. She won 2 nursing achievement awards due to her contribution to mental health nursing. Her PhD was on the ‘lived experience of caring for a relative with mental illness’. At her current role as lecturer at Western Sydney University, Australia she coordinated a number of under-graduate and post-graduate units and is involved in the development and review of curriculum. Her role also includes supervision of higher degree research students and her research interests are in the area of mental health, transcultural nursing, evidence-based practice and nursing education which are reflected in her publications.

Nicole Janmaat RN is a senior lecturer in Nursing, Master Organization Coaching at the University of Applied Science Windesheim, the Netherlands and she also serves as a Member of the board VenVN opleiders.

Dr Tracy Roake is an advanced midwife and general nurse. She is currently the Head of Education and Student Affairs at Danat Al Emarat Hospital, Abu Dhabi. Dr Tracy has been awarded a DBA, MBA, M.Sc. Healthcare management degree, and has a Master of Applied business research; she is a qualified hypnobirthing instructor and has a diploma in Aromatherapy, Herbalist, Reflexology and Naturopathy. She is a BLS, NRP and PROMPT instructor. She has a great passion for midwifery and pioneered all the first private hospital water births in KZN, South Africa. She is also a facility member or the PROMPT foundation in the United Kingdom.

Nancy Barker has completed her Ed.D at Immaculata University and is currently an associate professor and Chair for the Department of Nursing at West Chester University. She has published more than 10 papers in reputed journals and provided over 20 podium presentations on simulation and nursing.

James Waterson is a registered nurse and has specialist qualifications in Children’s Critical Care, Offshore Medicine and in Renal Nursing.

He has Master’s Degrees in Medical Education from the University of Dundee, and in Health Economics and Pharmacoeconomics from Pompeu Fabra University School of Management, Barcelona.

He has published papers on medication safety, alarm fatigue, medical device interoperability, introducing robotics into compounding and dispensing units, and on managing critically ill paediatric patients in adult facilities, and is a peer reviewer for the Journal of Infusion Nursing, Applied Clinical Informatics Journal, and the Journal of Pediatric Pharmaceutical Therapeutics.
